Peace Lilies Sent to Brandywine, MD
The city is an unincorporated area in Prince George's County in Maryland. The city has more than twelve thousand residents, and William H. Early named it. This census-designated place consists of the property William owned in the nineteenth century. It was named after the Battle of Brandywine of the American Revolutionary War; it was developed on the Southern Maryland and Baltimore rail lines; it was the only town on the route that grew into a railroad town. In 1877, an earthquake struck the city. As a result, the Bank of Brandywine was acquired from the Maryland German-American Bank. Although the city is located between the bedroom cities of Waldorf and Clinton, it remained rural until after the twenty-first century when small residential developments and shopping centers were constructed.
