The community of Pueblo West is located in Pueblo County in Colorado and has more than thirty thousand residents. The census-designated place is an unincorporated community and a part of the Pueblo Colorado megalopolis areas. Robert P. McCulloch, oil magnate and land developer, and his company McCulloch Properties, Inc arrived in the city when it was undeveloped rangeland. The community was supported by the water from the Arkansas River and historically occupied by Comanche and Ute people who used it for ranching. McCulloch established the Pueblo West Inn, where guests were treated to a luxurious experience in an effort to sell land in the rolling prairies of the new town. Industrial and recreational opportunities were founded on the city's property, including the National Horseman's Arena, South Equestrian Center, manufacturing company Aspen Skiwear, and the Pueblo West Golf and Tennis Club The economy of the District grew alongside its residential areas after a trail system was laid for the enjoyment of the residents, along with an additional fire station being built to serve the north side of the District.

The city joined the Southern Delivery System, a bilateral agreement to supply water from the town's Reservoir to Colorado Springs, and today the community boasts a growing industrial center. Pueblo West is a family-oriented and active community and has maintained parks, a fishing pond, an outdoor swimming pool, and recreational trails.
