Arrangements of Roses Sent to Huffman, TX

The city is an unincorporated community located in the northeastern part of Harris County, and it is centered on Farm to Market Roads. When the Texas Revolution was on, David Huffman was a native of Louisiana who came to Texas in a bid to fight against Mexico. During the war, he was paid $24 and given more than 300 acres of land for his services. He settled in the area with his father Abe Huffman, and a group of migrants also settled close to them. The community's economy was driven by farming primary crops such as rice, cotton, and corn. Residents of the town also engaged in logging and ranching. The first post office was built in the town in 1888. Two blacksmith shops were also established in the area in 1892. For retail purposes, two general stores were also in operation in the area. Sinclair Oil pump station was also in operation in the town. Early maps from 1936 show a cemetery and church. Lake Huston was opened to the public as a recreational lake and is still used for water skiing, jetting, fishing, and sailing. The city covers more than 39 square miles and is home to thousands of citizens. It currently consists of scattered farms and small businesses.

Schools in the Community

The town has two community newspapers: The Lake Houston Observer and Tribune Newspaper. The Huffman Independent School District is in charge of the community, and the city has four schools: the Copeland Intermediate, Falcon Ridge Elementary, Hargrave High School, and Ben Bowen Elementary. After the construction of Hargrave High School and the subsequent renovation of the old middle school. The community now has five new schools: Huffman Middle School, Willie J. Hargrave High School, Ben Bowen Early Childhood Center,  Elementary School, and Falcon Ridge Elementary School. Avas Flowers offers delivery of flowers to all schools in the community.
