Newtown Square also known as Newtown Township is a family friendly town in Delaware County. It was developed as a Quaker community. It was originally an agricultural community but today it is mainly residential.
The area was settled in 1681 and incorporated in 1684. It is an old and historic community with many places on the National Register of Historic Places. Among them are the Hood Octagonal School, Bartram’s Covered Bridge, Old St. David’s Church, Square Tavern and the Paper Mill House.
