It is a neighborhood towards the northeastern side of New York City, and is located in Queens County. In the past, it used to be part of Flushing. It shares its borders with the Horace Harding Expressway, and Pomonok to the west. The area did not become residential until the late 1040s when New York Life Insurance Company bought the land which was then a golf course. Many returning World War II veterans settled in the area. Businesses and other venues quickly moved into the area. The community is home to two subsections namely Hillcrest and Utopia.
