Balmville is a census-designated place located in Orange County, New York. It is a hamlet with a total population of 3178 at the 2010 census. The hamlet is part of the Poughkeepsie New burgh Middletown NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also considered a part of the larger New York- Newark, Bridgeport, NY NJ CT PA Combined Statistical Area. The town sits on the southeastern side of Newburgh.
