Vinita Park is a small city located in St. Louis County, in the state of Missouri. The city is located to the east of I-170, also known as the Inner Belt Expressway, and the south of St. Charles Rock Road. According to the census of 2010, the population of the town was 1880. The total area of the city is 0.72 square miles. It got its name from "Vinita Station," an electric rail car station that was located at the intersection of Midland and Page. It was first incorporated as a village in 1941 and was later changed to a 4th class city in 1950. In 2016, the neighboring town of Vinita Terrace was consolidated into one municipality as was named Vinita Park. The decision was made through a vote from the residents of both towns on November 8, 2016. However, the merger of the two towns took effect in May 2017. The town is served by three excellent school districts named Normandy, Ritenour, and Universal City. On June 1, 2015, Vinita Park inaugurated the North County Police Cooperative. They have partnered with nearby cities Vinita Terrace and Wellston in giving police services to their towns. The cooperative currently has a team of 30 police officers administering police protection in the area.
