The village is one of the nine sections of hamlets that make up Billerica town. The North Billerica Train Depot, Talbot, and Faulkner Mills are located in the village. The station serves travelers as a regular stop on Lowell's rail line. The Iron Horse Park is also located in the village and is a former train repair facility. The Billerica Mills Historic District houses the oldest remaining homestead in the community and is called the Manning Manse. The manse is about a mile away from Chelmsford Road and is the place where Minutemen who relocated from New Hampshire stayed during the battle of Concord and Lexington.
