The poppy is a very popular flower with many California florists. They are used in many types of bouquets such as sympathy or weddings. They may also be sent as part of a spring or summer arrangement.
The California poppy was declare to be the state flower in 1903. This poppy has gold blooms and grows wild in many areas in the state. April 6th was made California Poppy Day and is celebrated annually.
This state features some of the leading hospitals in the country. These hospitals treat diseases, conditions and care for children. They are often centered around major cities, such as Sacramento.
Sacramento is the capital city, and has many funeral homes as well. Other cities, such as Los Angeles, also have many funeral homes. As a result, there is often a high need for sympathy arrangements.
For a funeral, an arrangement of white or pale flowers is often used. Blooms may be selected to express specific condolences or feelings. These may be delivered to the funeral home or taken to the cemetery.
Delivery services may also include assisted living homes or centers. These assisted living facilities are often used by the elderly. These centers provide care for those in many locations in California.
Florists exist in cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. Other locations include florist shops in San Diego and San Bernadino. This enables residents to find an arrangement to fit their needs.
The poppy used more frequently is traditionally a vivid red color. The state flower, however, is a golden yellow hue for the blooms. This gives it a more unique look for gardens or landscaping uses.
Florists may choose to use these golden blooms in spring mixes. They may be blended with other yellow or creamy white blossoms. For home uses, species are often used to cover barren landscapes.
E. californica is the better known of the gold blooming species. It grows native in much of the state and is invasive in other areas. California florists may prefer to use the other colored species.
