The city of Brooklyn Park is located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River and has more than ninety thousand residents. The town still has undeveloped farms and land and is the sixth-largest city in Minnesota. The community is a suburban city located upstream north of downtown Minneapolis in the northern part of Hennepin County. Settlers from Michigan formally organized a town government and named the community after their hometown of Brooklyn in Michigan. The city was formerly Brooklyn Township but later incorporated as the Village of Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center operates the Three Rivers Figure Skating Club.
