Delivery of Beautiful Bouquets to Oaklyn, NJ

It is a borough located in Camden County, and the borough was once dense forest land, and its inhabitants were the Lenape Native Americans. A sizable group of Quakers came to the borough in search of religious freedom. They sailed from the Delaware River and finally settled in Newton Creek. The leader of the expedition, William Bates, purchased more than 200 acres of land on the south side of Newton Creek from one of the Native Americans. The first Quaker settlement was called Newton Colony and was located close to the Manor section of present-day Oaklyn. The borough started to grow fast, and the surrounding land was cleared for farming and agricultural purposes. Finally, two major highways were constructed, the first from the Delaware River to Egg Harbor and the second which was a Native American Trail and is now called the Black Horse Pike. Another one is the Long a Coming Trail which started from Berlin to Camden and is now called the White Horse Pike.

Subsequently, after the American Revolutionary War, a group of sportsmen from Virginia built race tracks close to White Horse Pike, Ulysses.S.Grant, who turned out to be a future president of the United States, visited the race track before its closure in 1846. Samuel Bettle bought the land, and it was eventually deeded to Haddon Township. The farms close to Newton Creek were later divided into lots as years passed, which led to the name of the area to be called Oakland the Beautiful because of the presence of many trees. The new name Oaklyn was obtained in 1894 because Oakland in North Jersey was bearing the same name, and the name change was done to avoid confusion.

Fire Department

The Borough form of municipal government governed the borough, and 218 municipalities use the form of government, and it is a very common government in New Jersey. The form of government comprises Borough Council and a Mayor, and the Mayor is elected for a four-year term. The Oaklyn Fire Department is generally responsible for the fire protection of the community and is also responsible for the Haddon Township Fire District. Fire District 3 covers both Bettlewood, Heather Woods, and Heather Glen. Avas Flowers offers delivery of flowers to the Oaklyn Fire Department. Our rates are very affordable; flowers can be sent as gifts to the staff of the Fire Department to appreciate them for their contribution to the safety of the borough and their service.
