Delivery of Floral Arrangements to Irvington, AL

Irvington is located east of St. Elmo and North of Bayou La Batre in the southwestern part of Mobile County. The town has a post office and is also home to Mobile International Speedway and Silver King Golf Course. The city was a thriving agricultural community and the core center of a lucrative Tung oil business. The Mobile County Public School System serves the city's residents and a school district founded in unincorporated Mobile County in Alabama. It helps the areas of Mobile County except for Chickasaw, Saraland, and Satsuma cities; it also serves suburban, urban, and rural areas. The system made a law that all schools should adopt a school uniform. It got its source from the Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County; it was the first educational board in Alabama. Barton Willoughby established the act, a legislator from Mobile County, and Barton Academy, the first school building constructed to honor the legislator.

Insufficient funds delayed the project until a law was passed in the state legislature that allowed the commissioners to fund the project through a lottery. They raised a fifteen thousand dollars municipal loan, fifty thousand dollars in lottery funds, and additional private donations, including a generous grant from a local millionaire, Hitchcock Henry, which they used to start constructing the school building.

Irvington Education

After the completion of the Barton Academy building, the Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County allowed the building to be used for denominational and private schools, and they made an act that taxes should be collected for the construction of a free Methodist school by the commission. A new board was elected after the project, then the system was reorganized, and the building was repaired. Finally, Barton Academy became a public school and was closed during the period of the Civil War. It then became a central office for the Mobile County Public School System. Henceforth, the Barton Academy was among the Alabama Historical Commission's "Places in Peril" lists. The schools in Irvington include Mobile Regional School, Vigor School, The Pathway School, Williamson School, Bryant Career Technical, Faulkner Vocational School, Continuous Learning Center, Clark-Shaw Magnet School, Dunbar Creative and Performing Arts Magnet School, Mobile County Training School, Council Traditional School, Phillips Preparatory School, Belsaw/Mt Vernon School Pre K-8, Augusta Evans School K-12. Avas Flowers offers delivery to all the schools in Irvington, Alabama. Kindly visit our website for more information.
